1. Mold prep work.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mold is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The coloration preferred for the finished goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most generally used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic engineering.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and placed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is critical at this point is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and strength, producing a faulty product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the product.

4. The removing or de-molding step.
When the product within te mould has cooled successfully, the molder managing the procedure can then extract the completed product from the mold. The function is repeated from the start, giving a series of identical products.
