The Rotomolding Method Components

1. Mould readying.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. One thing that is crucial at this point is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and strength, creating a poor product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too rapidly, causing bending of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the product inside te mold has cooled properly, the molder handling the operation can then remove the finished item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, providing a number of similar items.
