1. Mould prep work.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and inserted into the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. Something that is important at this point is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and strength, generating a poor product. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another step that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too fast, causing bending of the product.

4. The offloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled successfully, the molder managing the procedure can then remove the finished product from the mold. The function is repeated from the beginning, supplying a series of identical product lines.
