1. Mold preparation.
A fixed measure of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. 2. The heating up and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. One thing that is vital at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and durability, producing a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is one more measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
As soon as the material within te mold has cooled correctly, the person handling the procedure can then take out the completed item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, providing a number of similar items.
