The Rotomoulding Process Components

1. Mold readying.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is important at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and durability, making a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which produces bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing bending of the material.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the material inside te mold has cooled adequately, the person handling the procedure can then remove the finished item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of similar product lines.
