1. Mould readying.
A predetermined volume of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The most generally used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is critical at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose value and strength, producing a faulty product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which generates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mould. This is another procedure that depends a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the product.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding step.
When the component within te mold has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the operation can then take out the finalized item from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, giving a number of identical products.
