1. Mould prep work.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then locked and installed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per min. One thing that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose value and durability, creating a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional step that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quick, causing bending of the material.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
As soon as the material inside te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the operation can then extract the completed item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, giving a number of exact product lines.
