The Rotomoulding Process Components

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose value and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is another measure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding step.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled successfully, the molder managing the operation can then extract the finalized product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, supplying a number of similar products.
