1. Mould preparation.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mold is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and strength, producing a weak item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which develops bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more step that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the product.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the product within te mould has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the procedure can then take out the completed item from the mould. The function is repeated from the beginning, making a number of identical products.
