1. Mould readying.
A fixed measure of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The most generally used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and placed within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and strength, producing a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is one more procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding step.
When the material inside te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the procedure can then take out the completed item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar product lines.
