The Rotomolding Procedure Components

1. Mold prep work.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per minute. One thing that is essential at this point is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and durability, generating a poor product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quick, causing warping of the material.

4. The offloading or de-molding step.
When the material inside te mould has cooled successfully, the molder managing the operation can then take out the finished product from the mould. The process is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of similar products.
