1. Mold prep work.
A fixed quantity of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mould. The mold is usually built from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The colour needed for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic assembly.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per minute. The main thing that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and durability, creating a weak item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
Once the component within te mould has cooled adequately, the person handling the operation can then take out the finalized item from the mould. The process is repeated from the beginning, supplying a number of similar products.
