1. Mold prep work.
A predetermined quantity of polymer in grain form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The coloration desired for the end item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic engineering.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. Something that is critical at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and strength, producing a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another procedure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too quickly, causing bending of the material.

4. The removing or de-moulding phase.
When the material inside te mold has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the operation can then take out the completed product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, making a series of exact product lines.
