1. Mold prep work.
A fixed volume of polymer in powder form is filled into a hollow mold. The mold is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and installed inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion process.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and durability, making a weak item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which produces bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is one more step that relies a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing bending of the material.

4. The discharging or de-molding step.
Once the component inside te mould has cooled properly, the molder managing the process can then remove the completed item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a series of similar product lines.
