1. Mold readying.
A predetermined quantity of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mold. The mould is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The coloration intended for the final goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and put into the oven.

2. The heat and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. One thing that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and strength, making a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which produces bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing warping of the product.

4. The unloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the material within te mould has cooled correctly, the person handling the operation can then extract the finalized item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, supplying a number of identical items.
