1. Mold readying.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic production.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then locked and put inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per minute. One thing that is important at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and durability, making a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the completed item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mould. This is another measure that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing bending of the product.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
As soon as the material inside te mould has cooled successfully, the molder managing the operation can then remove the finished product from the mold. The function is repeated from the beginning, making a number of identical product lines.
