1. Mold readying.
A fixed amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The coloration needed for the end product is pre compounded into the polymer. The most generally used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic production.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and placed inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is vital at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose stability and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mould. This is an additional procedure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too rapidly, causing bending of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding step.
As soon as the component within te mold has cooled adequately, the person managing the process can then extract the finished product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the start, supplying a series of identical products.
