The Rotomoulding Procedure Components

1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The color preferred for the final goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per sixty seconds. The main thing that is vital at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose value and strength, producing a weak product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is another procedure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
Once the product inside te mould has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the operation can then remove the finalized product from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, making a series of identical product lines.
