The Rotomoulding Method Components

1. Mold preparation.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per minute. Something that is important at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose value and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mold. This is another measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quickly, causing bending of the product.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mould has cooled effectively, the molder taking care of the procedure can then extract the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, giving a number of exact products.
