The Rotomolding Method Components

1. Mould readying.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and durability, producing a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional procedure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the product.

4. The unloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the material inside te mould has cooled correctly, the person handling the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, giving a number of identical items.
