1. Mould prep work.
A fixed quantity of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mould. The mould is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. 2. The heating and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is critical at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and strength, creating a poor product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another procedure that depends a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The offloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the material within te mold has cooled correctly, the person managing the process can then extract the finished item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, giving a number of similar product lines.
