1. Mould prep work.
A fixed quantity of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mold is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic engineering.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and positioned within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per min. The main thing that is critical at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and durability, creating a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which produces bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is another measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing bending of the product.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
Once the component inside te mould has cooled properly, the person managing the procedure can then take out the completed product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar products.
