1. Mold prep work.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mould. The mould is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and installed within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once inside the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The turning is done gradually, about 20 revolutions per min. One thing that is important at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is another procedure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The removing or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the material inside te mold has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the operation can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, making a series of identical items.
