1. Mould prep work.
A fixed volume of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. 2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. The main thing that is critical at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and strength, creating a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mould. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing warping of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding step.
When the component inside te mould has cooled successfully, the person taking care of the process can then remove the finalized product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the start, making a series of similar product lines.
