1. Mould preparation.
A predetermined amount of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mold is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The colour intended for the end goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic assembly.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed inside the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once within the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per minute. The main thing that is crucial at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which creates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-molding step.
As soon as the component within te mould has cooled successfully, the person taking care of the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mold. The function is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of exact products.
