1. Mold fitting.
A fixed quantity of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The coloring needed for the final item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic assembly.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed within the oven.

2. The heating and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per min. The main thing that is important at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose value and durability, generating a faulty product. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the component has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is another procedure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding step.
As soon as the product inside te mold has cooled correctly, the person managing the procedure can then extract the finalized item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, supplying a number of exact items.
