1. Mould readying.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per minute. One thing that is crucial at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and strength, generating a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which generates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another procedure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-molding step.
As soon as the component inside te mould has cooled adequately, the molder managing the process can then remove the completed item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the beginning, giving a number of similar items.
