1. Mould readying.
A fixed volume of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mold. The mould is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic manufacturing.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once inside the oven, the mold is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is vital at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose value and durability, generating a weak item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that depends a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too quickly, causing bending of the item.

4. The offloading or de-moulding phase.
Once the material within te mold has cooled successfully, the person taking care of the procedure can then remove the finished item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, giving a series of exact items.
