1. Mould preparation.
A predetermined measure of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion process.
Once within the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, creating a weak product. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding step.
As soon as the material inside te mould has cooled effectively, the molder handling the process can then remove the completed product from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, giving a series of similar product lines.
