1. Mold preparation.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and put into the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 spins per min. Something that is important at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and durability, generating a poor product. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is another procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too rapidly, causing bending of the product.

4. The unloading or de-moulding step.
Once the product inside te mould has cooled successfully, the molder taking care of the procedure can then remove the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the beginning, providing a series of similar items.
