1. Mold preparation.
A fixed quantity of polymer in powder form is packed into a hollow mould. The mold is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and positioned within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once within the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The rotation is done gradually, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is crucial at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and strength, creating a faulty item. If it is removed from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which develops bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mould. This is an additional procedure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quickly, causing bending of the product.

4. The unloading or de-moulding step.
As soon as the product inside te mold has cooled effectively, the person managing the operation can then extract the finalized item from the mould. The process is repeated from the beginning, providing a number of identical product lines.
