1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined quantity of polymer in particle form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually made from cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The color preferred for the finished goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most generally used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and put within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is important at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, producing a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which creates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another measure that depends a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too quickly, causing bending of the product.

4. The offloading or de-moulding step.
When the material inside te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the operation can then extract the finished item from the mould. The procedure is repeated from the beginning, making a number of similar items.
