1. Mold prep work.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is essential at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and strength, making a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which develops bubbles in the finished product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the component has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another procedure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The unloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component within te mould has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the operation can then take out the finished product from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, providing a number of similar items.
