1. Mold prep work.
A predetermined amount of polymer in grain form is filled into a hollow mold. The mould is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The colour desired for the final item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven follows, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then locked and put within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion step.
Once within the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per minute. One thing that is crucial at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and strength, producing a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too quick, causing bending of the material.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mold has cooled successfully, the molder managing the process can then remove the finished item from the mold. The process is repeated from the start, making a series of exact products.
