1. Mold fitting.
A predetermined volume of polymer in powder form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then locked and installed within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is important at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the material will lose value and durability, making a faulty product. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which develops bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is another step that relies a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the material.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component within te mold has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the procedure can then remove the completed item from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, providing a number of exact items.
