1. Mould readying.
A predetermined amount of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mould is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The color tone needed for the finished item is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this design of plastic production.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and put within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion step.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per min. Something that is important at this moment is the amount of time the mold will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and strength, making a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is another measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling reduces the material too quick, causing bending of the product.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
Once the component inside te mould has cooled effectively, the person taking care of the procedure can then extract the completed product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, supplying a series of identical product lines.
