The Rotomolding Procedure Components

1. Mold fitting.

Once within the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per min. The main thing that is crucial at this point is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and durability, generating a poor item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-molding step.
As soon as the component inside te mold has cooled correctly, the person managing the procedure can then take out the finished item from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, supplying a series of similar items.
