The Rotomoulding Process Components

1. Mould fitting.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once within the oven, the mold is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. One thing that is vital at this point is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and durability, creating a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which creates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding step.
Once the material inside te mould has cooled successfully, the person taking care of the procedure can then remove the finished product from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, giving a series of exact items.
