1. Mold readying.
A predetermined quantity of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mold is usually made of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and inserted within the oven.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mould is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per min. One thing that is critical at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and strength, making a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has completely spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the component within te mold has cooled properly, the person taking care of the operation can then remove the finished product from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, giving a number of similar product lines.
