1. Mold preparation.
A fixed amount of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The most often used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this format of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is warmed to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and installed inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and overlays the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 revolutions per min. Something that is essential at this point is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose value and strength, making a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have flowed properly, which generates bubbles in the finished product line.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks slightly for ease of extraction from the mould. This is one more step that relies a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too fast, causing bending of the material.

4. The unloading or de-moulding phase.
When the product inside te mold has cooled properly, the person handling the procedure can then take out the finished item from the mold. The technique is repeated from the beginning, making a series of exact items.
