1. Mould prep work.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed into the oven.

2. The heating and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The rotation is done gradually, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. The main thing that is crucial at this moment is the amount of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and strength, producing a poor item. If it is extracted from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which produces bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is an additional measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
As soon as the product inside te mould has cooled effectively, the person handling the process can then extract the finalized product from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, giving a number of identical items.
