1. Mould fitting.
A fixed amount of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mold is usually comprised of cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The color intended for the final goods is pre compounded into the polymer. The most commonly used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic engineering.

Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then secured and inserted into the oven.

2. The heat and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and coats the inside if the mold. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the component will lose stability and durability, generating a poor product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which produces bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more measure that relies a lot on the right timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The removing or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component inside te mould has cooled correctly, the molder taking care of the operation can then extract the finalized item from the mold. The function is repeated from the start, making a number of exact items.
