The Rotomolding Process in Detail

1. Mold fitting.

If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and durability, generating a weak product. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted correctly, which develops bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of extraction from the mold. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling reduces the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The unloading or de-molding step.
As soon as the product inside te mould has cooled effectively, the molder managing the operation can then extract the finished item from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, providing a series of identical items.
