1. Mould readying.
A predetermined measure of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is usually built from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. Preheating of the oven follows, and it can be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then sealed and inserted within the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion phase.
Once inside the oven, the mould is spun on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The rotation is done slowly and gradually, about 20 revolutions per minute. One thing that is important at this point is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, producing a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed product line.

3. Mould cooling down.
When the component has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which generates a cool mist. When the component cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mould. This is an additional measure that depends a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too fast, causing warping of the item.

4. The unloading or de-moulding step.
When the material within te mold has cooled correctly, the person managing the process can then take out the finished product from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, giving a series of similar products.
