The Rotomoulding Process Components

1. Mold readying.

2. The heat and fusion procedure.
Once inside the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The spinning is done gradually, about 20 spins per min. The main thing that is vital at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the material will lose stability and durability, generating a weak product. If it is taken out from the oven prematurely, the polymer will not have flowed correctly, which creates bubbles in the completed item.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is one more step that depends a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quickly, causing warping of the product.

4. The discharging or de-moulding phase.
When the material inside te mould has cooled correctly, the person taking care of the process can then remove the completed item from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, providing a series of identical items.
