The Rotomolding Procedure Components

1. Mold fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in powder form is loaded into a hollow mold. The mould is usually constructed from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. The colour desired for the finished product is pre compounded into the polymer. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic assembly.

Preheating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then secured and installed into the oven.

2. The heating up and fusion procedure.
Once within the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer liquefies from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 spins per min. Something that is important at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose stability and durability, producing a poor product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which produces bubbles in the finished item.

3. Mold cooling.
When the material has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it reduces slightly for ease of removal from the mould. This is one more step that depends upon a lot on the right timing, since quick cooling shrinks the material too fast, causing warping of the material.

4. The un-loading or de-moulding phase.
When the product within te mould has cooled properly, the person managing the process can then remove the finalized item from the mold. The function is repeated from the start, making a number of identical items.
