1. Mould fitting.
A predetermined amount of polymer in powder form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually crafted from cast aluminium or sheet steel material. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this style of plastic assembly.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated to temperatures between 500-700F. The mold with the powdered polymer is then sealed and installed inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mold. The turning is done slowly and gradually, about 20 rotations per sixty seconds. Something that is essential at this point is the amount of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the component will lose value and durability, generating a weak item. If it is removed from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then removed for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces a little for ease of removal from the mold. This is one more measure that depends upon a lot on the correct timing, since quick cooling decreases the material too rapidly, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-moulding phase.
Once the product inside te mould has cooled adequately, the molder taking care of the procedure can then take out the finalized product from the mould. The technique is repeated from the start, providing a series of similar product lines.
