The Roto-Molding Method Components

1. Mold prep work.
A fixed volume of polymer in grain form is loaded into a hollow mould. The mold is usually built from cast aluminium or sheet steel substance. 2. The heating and fusion phase.
Once placed into the oven, the mould is revolved on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The turning is done gradually, about 20 spins per minute. One thing that is crucial at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose value and durability, generating a faulty item. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied properly, which generates bubbles in the completed product.

3. Mould cooling.
When the product has sufficiently spent the right amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the material cools, it shrinks a little for ease of extraction from the mold. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quickly, causing warping of the item.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the component within te mold has cooled successfully, the molder managing the procedure can then remove the finalized item from the mould. The process is repeated from the start, making a series of exact items.
