The Rotomoulding Method Components

1. Mold prep work.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once inside the oven, the mould is rotated on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and layers the inside if the mould. The spinning is done slowly, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. Something that is critical at this moment is the period of time the mold will spend inside the oven. If it stays to long, the product will lose stability and durability, creating a faulty item. If it is extracted from the oven too early, the polymer will not have melted properly, which generates bubbles in the finalized product line.

3. Mould cooling.
When the component has completely spent the correct amount of time in the oven, it is then extracted for cooling. This may be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which creates a cool mist. When the product cools, it shrinks somewhat for ease of removal from the mold. This is yet another measure that relies a lot on the correct timing, since rapid cooling decreases the material too quick, causing warping of the product.

4. The offloading or de-molding phase.
When the component inside te mold has cooled effectively, the molder handling the procedure can then remove the completed product from the mould. The function is repeated from the start, making a number of exact items.
