1. Mould preparation.
A fixed volume of polymer in particle form is packed into a hollow mold. The mould is usually composeded of cast aluminium or sheet steel component. The most typically used powder resin is polythene, but polyvinyl chloride and nylon can also be used in this type of plastic manufacturing.

Pre-heating of the oven starts, and it may be done by either conduction, convection or sometimes radiation. It is heated up to temperatures between 500-700F. The mould with the powdered polymer is then locked and inserted inside the oven.

2. The heating and fusion process.
Once placed into the oven, the mold is turned on two axis so the powdered polymer melts from the heat and coats the inside if the mould. The rotation is done slowly, about 20 spins per sixty seconds. One thing that is crucial at this moment is the period of time the mould will spend within the oven. If it overstays, the product will lose stability and durability, making a faulty product. If it is taken out from the oven too early, the polymer will not have liquefied correctly, which develops bubbles in the finalized item.

3. Mold cooling down.
When the material has completely spent the enough of time in the oven, it is then taken out for cooling. This can be done by air or water, or sometimes a mixture of both which a cool mist. When the product cools, it reduces somewhat for ease of removal from the mould. This is yet another measure that depends upon a lot on the ideal timing, since rapid cooling shrinks the material too quick, causing bending of the item.

4. The un-loading or de-molding phase.
As soon as the material inside te mould has cooled properly, the person handling the operation can then remove the finalized product from the mold. The procedure is repeated from the start, making a number of identical items.
